Fashion and Textiles Our aim is to ignite your creativity, encouraging you to embrace your unique style, push the boundaries of your imagination, and excel in your chosen field. You will have the opportunity to specialise in fashion, textiles, theatrical costumes, focusing your skills and honing your expertise. Furthermore, you will work with a wide range of materials, enhancing your abilities and broadening your understanding. You will acquire knowledge and expertise by participating in hands-on lessons that will encourage you to explore various materials and techniques, ultimately enhancing your abilities and knowledge. In Year 12, you will study a range of textiles and techniques, building on your existing knowledge and skills. In Year 13, you will complete a major design project which will enhance your skills by enabling you to explore ideas in greater detail. Product Design You will explore a range of materials and products. You will also experience the challenges faced by designers. There will be opportunities for you to work in an area of design and technology that you have not yet tried. In Year 12 you will study a range of materials and processes, building on your existing knowledge. In Year 13, you will complete a major design project which will enhance your skills by enabling you to explore ideas in greater detail.
You will require at least a grade 5 in GCSE Design and Technology and a grade 5 in GCSE Maths along with the necessary work ethic and time commitment.
During Year 13, You will create a portfolio to accompany your design project, followed by 2 exams papers which will assess designing and making principles and technical principles.
