HISTORY (A Level) What is History A level? History A Level is an opportunity to learn more about the past and gain a deeper understanding of issues we face today. This course begins in pre-colonial Africa before crossing the Atlantic to look at the experiences of African Americans, Native Americans, women and trade unionists. We also look at how Britain changed across the 20th century. We look at different sources, from Churchill’s speeches to African art; we also debate the work of historians. Our hope is that by the end of the two years you will be able to put today’s world into context and be prepared to study history at university. Exam Board: OCR
