
This one year level 2 course is an introduction to business studies, starting with the vital role of administration for any business. You will explore the variety of roles which fall under the heading of administration and the important part technology plays including the use of social media. There are three compulsory modules: Principles of working in business administration; Understand the role of an administrator; Use social media for business purposes. In addition there is another module which will be decided by the teacher. There is also a requirement for students to have an element of interaction with employers from local businesses.
Students must meet the general level 2 course requirements. For entry on the level 2 courses, you will also need to complete a short business related task to assess your suitability for the course. However, students are expected to be be capable of progression to level 3 at the end of this one year course.
There will be a mixture of externally examined modules (50%) and internally assessed coursework (50%).
