
The course is designed to provide students with a specialist work-related qualification in health and social care that is recognised by employers and universities. This course allows students to develop a wide-ranging theoretical education whilst also gaining valuable work experience in this demanding field. Furthermore, an essential part of the course looks at the growth and development of individuals and factors that can affect that. We will also be exploring how individuals with additional needs are supported within a health and social care setting.
GCSE English Language at grade 4 or above, and a Science qualification.
The Level 3 BTEC Diploma is equivalent to two A Levels and will be completed over two years. There are 8 units studied over the two years which include: • Human Lifespan and Development – Examination • Working in Health and Social Care – Examination • Supporting individuals with additional needs – Internally Assessed • Promoting Health and Well Being – Internally Assessed Assessments are through assignment based coursework and by examinations. The assignments are continuous throughout the course with a variety of written reports, reflective journals, presentations, discussions and written tests. 30 hours of Work Experience will be undertaken.
