It combines theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology and sociology with practical assessment, enabling students to analyse and enhance their own sporting performance. This course not only fosters a deep understanding of the human body's response to exercise but also provides opportunities to develop valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. Entry requirements

To study PE you will need a minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE PE.

How you'll be assessed

This course employs a blend of examined and non-examined assessments. At the course's culmination, there are two two-hour written exams, collectively accounting for 70% of the total grade. The remaining 30% is determined through practical performance, where students can opt to be either a performer or a coach (15%), and a written/verbal analysis and evaluation of their own performance (15%).
