Apart from being extremely enjoyable, interesting and important, History is a unique subject which allows you to learn invaluable skills for life after school. It teaches you how to analyse, evaluate and interpret evidence effectively and enables you to develop excellent literacy, thinking and debating skills. History gives you detailed knowledge of past events and knowing how people lived and behaved in the past helps you to understand why people and governments act like they do today.
Students should have grade 5 or above in GCSE History. Good literacy skills and a willingness to work hard are the most valuable qualities of a history student.
