This is an additional A Level for those taking A Level Mathematics. You must have a real love of the subject. Further Pure Mathematics 1, Further Pure Mathematics 2, Decision Maths and Further Mechanics. Topics include complex numbers, matrices, co-ordinate geometry, algorithms, linear programming, projectiles, centres of mass, statics, energy and collisions. Future Opportunities - Anyone considering taking Mathematics, Physics or Engineering at university will be at a considerable advantage if they have taken Further Mathematics.
Minimum five GCSE passes (grades 4 or 5) including English Language and Maths. Students must also meet subject specific minimum entry requirements (shown below). GCSE Maths grade 7.
Examination - four papers of 1hr 30 minutes each.
