Course summary

The qualification features familiar and popular themes as well as some new content that provides clear links to some of the most fundamental and interesting aspects of the culture of the target language country and communities. The qualification also offers a rich choice of literary texts and films that includes contemporary and more classical titles, together with authentic source materials from Germany and the wider German -speaking world. During the two years students will discuss and study in depth the following themes : Theme 1 is set in the context of Germany only. This theme covers social issues and trends. Theme 2 is set in the context of Germany only. Covers artistic culture (through music and festivals and traditions) and political and artistic culture (through media). Theme 3 is set in the context of Germany only. This theme covers social issues and trends. Theme 4 is set in the context of Germany only. This theme covers political culture.
