
You will study four themes: • Theme 1 Marketing and People • Theme 2 Managing Business Activities • Theme 3 Business Decisions and Strategy • Theme 4 Global Business There is the possibility of two educational visits. One to the ‘4 Entrepreneurs’ conference in London during Global Entrepreneurship week featuring four successful entrepreneurs and the second one to Disneyland Paris to attend a Business Live Conference.
A minimum of grade 5 in GCSE English and Maths is required. No previous study of Business Studies is needed to be accepted on to A Level Business Studies. However, if you have studied GCSE Business then at least a grade C is required.
There are three exams each lasting two hours. Paper 1 is equivalent to 35% of the A level. Questions will be on Marketing, People and Global Business. The exam questions will be drawn from all four themes. Paper 2 is equivalent to 35% of the A level. Questions will be on Finance and Operations, Business Decisions and Strategy. The exam questions will be drawn from themes 3 and 4. Paper 3 is equivalent to 30% of the A level. Questions are based on a pre-released document which focuses on an industry or market in which businesses operate.
