
Course Description Studying music at A level gives you the power to engage with music more deeply as a performer, composer and listener. You are encouraged to be creative and to broaden your musical horizons and understanding with areas of study that inspire and challenge. A level Music will enable you to explore performance and composition in greater detail and allow you to choose a specialism in performance or composition. You will explore musical context, musical language and performance and composition skills. Interesting fact about studying this at S6C You will engage actively in the process of music study and develop performing skills to demonstrate an understanding of musical elements, style, sense of continuity, interpretation and expression. You will also develop composing skills to demonstrate the manipulation of musical ideas and the use of musical devices and conventions, and develop awareness of music technologies and their use in the creation and presentation of music. A level Music is delivered at Godolphin School as part of a collaboration agreement.
Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language and Music, or a good musical ear.
