Course Content • Recording and production techniques for both corrective and creative purposes • Principles of sound and audio technology • The development of recording and production technology. This course provides opportunities to embrace recent developments in the field. This course involves lots of practical work and encourages the cultivation of a range of skills, including: Sequencing MIDI, Sequencing audio, recording live instruments, composing using music technology. Students are encouraged to explore their musicality and create original materials using technology. There is a strong practical element to the course and both the AS and A level years include two pieces of coursework which are independent ppracticalpractical work. There are also two exams in both the AS and A level years. The first exam is called “Listening and analysing” and part of it involves listening to music and answering questions on how it was recorded and produced. The second is called “Producing and analysing” and part of it involves using software to correct and manipulate sound and music files. There are regular HW assignments and lots of support and help tailored to your needs as a student. All resources are shared using Microsoft teams.
