
This course is designed to provide students with the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills associated with tourism organisations and activities. This qualification will provide a broad basis for further or higher education or for moving into employment. With the importance of tourism income to the economy through spending power and employment, this course provides students with exposure to the tourism industry which is important for furthering knowledge of this crucial market sector. The qualification has been designed to cover the extent of the tourism industry and all of the organisations that make up the industry in detail and depth. The assessments provide the students with much scope to fully research and understand the tourism sector, testing their understanding of the tourism sector at an appropriate level. The applied focus of each unit ensures that there is relevant and purposeful learning. This course offers a good balance of skills including problem solving, research and presentation skills.
