The Level 2 Creative Digital Media Pathway offers an alternative one year course to students who don’t receive 5 GCSEs and require a foundation year before joining the Global Academy Sixth Form. During your one year at Global Academy – you could cover the following skills and knowledge: Interactive Digital Media Techniques This unit aims to promote the learner’s practical understanding of the key elements of interactive digital media production and the wide range of potential platforms and formats available to the business user and consumer Podcast Production The aim of this unit is to introduce the concept of podcast production, to facilitate an exploration of hosting techniques and to generate skills in developing content and themes. Vlog Production This unit aims to develop learners’ awareness of the current key concepts, tools and formats surrounding creating and sustaining a vlog, including exploring production techniques, marketing and promoting the vlog and developing an audience. Students will also develop knowledge in key media production techniques including Research, Planning, Reflection and Evaluation What qualification will I get? Students taking this course will receive a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Digital Media accredited by RSL. RSL’s Creative Digital Media qualifications prepare learners for their entry into this world and arm them with the knowledge and skills to successfully navigate this exciting and ever-evolving industry. What partners are involved in this course? You will work closely with our media partners such as Global, Sky and TikTok as well as some of London’s best independent production companies as well as the University of Arts: London College of Communication. Where could this course take me? This route is for students looking to start a specialist career in the creative industries. The qualification provides students with the necessary industry-relevant skills, knowledge, and understanding to access appropriate entry-level roles, training programmes or apprenticeships in the media production sectors of the media or apply for progression to a Level 3 qualification.
