Course summary
This is an advanced level course in French, so you will be expected to be interested in different cultures and keen to use French to understand and to communicate your own ideas and opinions to others on different topics and issues. This course expects you to be able to develop knowledge and understanding of the social issues and trends and political and artistic culture of France and French-speaking countries. You will need to express and justify your own opinions, develop arguments, and persuade, in speech and writing, building on the fluency and spontaneity developed at Key Stages 4. The skill of translation will be developed further. This qualification offers a suitable progression route to further study at university level. In addition, the study of one language at A Level can facilitate and help promote the learning of other languages.
