The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a stand-alone research qualification that students may choose to complete as an extension of their A Level studies. It gives the opportunity to develop knowledge of a specific area of interest that extends beyond the A Level curriculum. Students are required, with appropriate supervision, to: • choose an area of interest • draft a title and aims of the project for formal approval by the centre • plan, research and carry out the project • deliver a presentation to a non-specialist audience • provide evidence of all stages of project development and production for assessment. The EPQ is a highly regarded qualification that carries half the UCAS points of a full A Level. It enables students to develop a range of skills that equip them well for further academic study.
