You will create a lot of practical pieces, including drawing, painting, printmaking, graphic design and sculpture in a variety of media. In practical work, specific skills are taught in all the disciplines in order to encourage confidence and creativity with a broad range of materials and processes. You will also be studying aspects of nineteenth and twentieth century art, craft and design. This will involve a number of visits to art galleries, museums and studios of practising artists.
Grade 5 in the relevant GCSE art subject or Merit in L2 BTEC art & design
A level is assessed in two parts: personal study and externally set assignment. The personal study assessment is completed over the duration of the course. The externally set assignment is assessed in practical examination.
