Course summary

Studying chemistry can help you understand the world around you and the different substances in it. You will study in our specialist laboratories and develop a greater understanding of the general principles of chemistry. Our experienced staff will increase your understanding of chemical elements and compounds. An A-level in chemistry is essential for most healthcare-related or science-based degree courses. In this fascinating subject you will have the opportunity to perfect your practical science skills and apply them to various areas of the field of study. You will investigate the many different branches of organic and inorganic chemistry. Controlled assessments will be conducted during lesson time and the modules will be externally assessed. At AS level students study the fundamentals of chemistry, while in A2, students extend the skills of AS and apply them to the real world of chemistry.
