
The Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity is a vocational course which aims to develops the students theoretical knowledge and apply it to sport and the sports industry. Students will study the 5 units of the extended certificate and add an additional 6 to enhance the learning content to 2 A levels. The additional units that Diploma students will study are: Unit 4*- Working safely in sport, fitness, health and leisure, Unit 5- Performance analysis, Unit 8- Organising sports events, Unit 11- Exercise for specific groups, Unit 17- Sports injuries and rehabilitation and Unit 18- Practical sport skills (* indicates that the unit is assessed by external exam) The content of the diploma has a higher demand for practically based tasks and assessments therefore preparing the students to work in sports (especially as a sports coach) and to go to university. This course is well suited for students who are interested in sport, would like to study sport and exercise science at university or work in sport, the fitness industry or in Education.
Merit in a level 2 Vocational Sports Course or a 5 in GCSE PE Regularly playing sport is essential
