
If you wish to pursue a career in caring for babies and young children, then this is the course for you. The course is a demanding academic subject and you will need to be committed to the course for two years. Students will be required to establish links with local primary schools for quality work placements and will need to be dedicated in order to meet coursework deadlines. Mandatory Units: Unit 1: Children's Development (Externally assessed) Unit 2:Development of Children's Communication, Literacy and Numeracy skills (Externally assessed) Unit 3:Play and Learning (Internally assessed) Additional Unit Unit 5: Keeping Children Safe (Internally assessed)
Although no prior study of the sector is needed, you should typically have a Grade 4 or above in English. It would also be beneficial if you have studied this qualification at Level 2 and achieved at least a Pass or above. Where requirements have not been met, your application will still be considered at interview
There are three mandatory units, two external and one internal. Learners must complete and achieve at Near Pass grade or above in all mandatory external units and achieve a Pass or above in all mandatory internal units. Students must also complete one additional unit
