
For students not opting to study A Level Mathematics, the AQA Level 3 Certificate in Mathematics is a 2 year course in which students tackle meaningful mathematical problems to increase their confidence in using mathematics to be better equipped for the mathematical demands of other courses, higher education and employment. The course includes financial mathematics, statistics and probability and can help students in other A level subjects, in particular with science, engineering, business studies, etc. Mathematical skills are becoming increasingly important in the workplace and in higher education - studying this course will help students to keep up these essential skills. In addition, passing this course or the AS Level in Mathematics is needed for students to also achieve the Technical Baccalaureate Award. GCSE Mathematics For students who have not yet achieved a Grade 4 Standard Pass at GCSE Mathematics, they can follow a course which will allow them to re-sit their GCSE in November and/or June of Year 12.
