A Level Further Mathematics QAN code 60314990/2330 This is an additional A Level for those with a real love of the subject. It is only available if you take A Level Mathematics. Further Pure Mathematics 1, Further Pure Mathematics 2, Decision Maths and Further Mechanics. Topics include complex numbers, matrices, co-ordinate geometry, algorithms, linear programming, projectiles, centres of mass, statics, energy and collisions. Anyone considering taking Mathematics, Physics or Engineering at university will be at a considerable advantage if they have taken Further Mathematics.
A minimum of five GCSE passes at grades 4 or 5 including English Language and Maths. Students must then meet subject specific typical minimum entry requirements (listed below).
Further Mathematics at A Level is assessed by examination. There are four papers of 1hr 30 minutes each.
