A Level Chemistry QAN code 60157318/1110 A Level Chemistry takes you beyond GCSE to understand what drives reactions; how they occur in detail and the ways we can control them. From smaller, longer-lasting mobile phone batteries to safer, more effective medicines, many advances we take for granted rely on developments in Chemistry. Our increasing knowledge of the subject has allowed us to exploit our planet’s natural resources to make our lives more prosperous and comfortable. In the 21st Century, Chemistry helps us conserve these resources and allows us to monitor mankind’s impact on the Earth. In the future, it offers us hope that we might remedy some of the damage we seem to be causing.
A minimum of five GCSE passes at grades 4 or 5 including English Language and Maths. Students must then meet subject specific typical minimum entry requirements (listed below).
The A Level is assessed by examinations and an ongoing practical endorsement.
