
BTEC National Extended Certificate in Business QAN Code 60171595/AA3 The BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Business provides an excellent foundation to learn about how business works. It includes a programme of speakers, activities and opportunities which will allow you to experience the real business world. This course can be studied over one or two years and is equivalent to one A Level. You will complete the two units from the Certificate plus • Personal and business finance (externally assessed unit) • Work experience/customer service (coursework unit) Future Opportunities - This course is sound preparation for Higher Education, if at least a Merit is achieved. It is also an excellent basis for modern apprenticeships, employment or to start your own business.
Minimum five GCSE passes (grades 4 or 5) including English Language and Maths. Students must also meet subject specific minimum entry requirements (shown below).
The course is assessed through coursework, controlled assessment and an externally assessed unit. An overall grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* can be awarded.
