
The general topic areas for this course are: - Reacting masses - Atomic structure - Analytical chemistry - Inorganic chemistry - Acid reactions - Organic chemistry; Organic analysis - Thermodynamics - Transition metal chemistry - Practical chemistry skills The Chemistry course should encourage students to: Understand the role that Chemistry plays in our lives; develop analytical approaches and problem solving skills; have a knowledge and understanding of the reasons and patterns of chemical behaviour; be able to perform standard analytical tests to identify chemicals; be able to synthesise and produce chemicals in a sustainable way.
