This is an exciting new qualification which balances learning office skills with learning about computer technologies and their uses in modern society . The Vocational Award in ICT has been designed to support learners in schools who want to learn about this vocational sector and the potential it can offer them for their careers or further study. This further study would provide learners with the opportunity to develop a range of specialist and general skills that would support their progression to employment.
You will be assessed through a mixture of exams and controlled assessments. Unit 1 will be assessed through an exam which is worth 40% of your qualification. The exam will last 1 hour and 20 minutes, it will be made up of short and extended response questions. There is one tier of entry which covers all grades from Level 1 Pass ( a GCSE 1) to Level 2 Distinction * (equal to a GCSE 8.5).
