This is an ideal course for students who have an interest in both practical performance and the theoretical aspects of sport. It is a coherent and worthwhile course of study both for students who will not continue with further study of the subject beyond this qualification or as a preparation for Higher Education or employment in a sports-related field. The A Level PE course is a two-year course. Students will undertake a rigorous mock exam process in A Level PE towards the end of Year 12, in order to thoroughly prepare them for the demands of Year 13 and provide a strong benchmark of current progress. Only examinations at the end of the A-Level course will count towards the final grade. Students will be expected to be highly proficient in one practical performance in physical activity and sport (i.e. club level and beyond).
