Students will experience a mixture of traditional classroom teaching with theory and practical components. What sets this course apart is that students who are organised and can work independently in study time will achieve great course work results over the two years. The exams which make up a smaller percentage of the course result are completed in Year 12 to allow full focus on the forensic coursework units in Year 13.
You must meet the specific requirements for the subject and, as a minimum, achieve at least 5 GCSEs at level 5 or above, including English and Maths.
There are six units on this course - three are mandatory science based and three are forensic units. Two of the science units are assessed by exams, one by traditional biology, chemistry and physics short exams and the other by a practical skills based exam. The other four units are assessed by coursework.
