This course will help you to appreciate how and why business decisions are made and how they affect a variety of people – both within the business and external. WHAT’S COVERED? You will study a broad range of topics, from the role of an entrepreneur to controlling multi-national corporations. You will consider business ethics, exploring issues of wage discrimination, and treatment of workers in foreign countries. You will apply numerical skills in a range of business contexts and understand how to interpret a set of company accounts and learn how to carry out investment appraisal. You will study four themes over 2 years: Marketing and People, Managing Business Activities , Business Decisions and Strategy and Global Business FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES The qualification provides a solid foundation for studies at a higher level in the following subject areas: business management, business administration, accountancy and finance, economics, human resource management, marketing, retail management, tourism management and international business. The qualification may also lead on to a career in the commercial world, for example in banking, sales, product management or general management. Business and management skills are also considered desirable skills to have in public sector organisations or charities.
