

Through A Level Art and Design, you will develop and stimulate your creativity through a broad and exciting course. Students explore a range of different media, processes or techniques, ensuring that there is something suitable for all interests. You will develop your ability to appreciate the visual world and to respond in a creative and personal way, expanding your imaginative and creative powers, your experimental, analytical and documenting skills. You will also develop a specialist vocabulary, knowledge and an understanding of the place of art and design in history and in contemporary society
You will have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths, and have achieved at least a grade 5 in Art & Design at GCSE.
You will produce a personal investigation portfolio of work that will account for 60% of the A level mark. In February of Year 13 you will produce a second portfolio of work in response to a question set by the exam board. This makes up the further 40% of the Art and Design A level award.
