Through A-level Photography, you will develop and stimulate your creativity through a broad and exciting course. Students explore a range of different media, processes or techniques under the disciplines of lens based media, ensuring that there is something suitable for all interests. You will develop your ability to appreciate the visual world and to respond in a creative and personal way, expanding your imaginative and creative powers, your experimental, analytical and documenting skills. You will also develop a specialist vocabulary, knowledge and an understanding of the place of photography in history and in contemporary society.
You will have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths, and have achieved at least a grade 5 in Art & Design at GCSE.
You will produce a personal investigation portfolio of work that will account for 60% of the A level mark. In February of Year 13 you will produce a second portfolio of work in response to a question set by the exam board. This makes up the further 40% of the Art and Design A level award.
