Health and Social Care is much needed in the UK and the NHS is Europe’s biggest employer. A qualification in Health and Social Care will allow you access to these employment opportunities. You will explore growth and development across the lifespan looking at factors that impact our growth and development before and after birth. You will explore the influence of drugs, housing and employment on human development as well as learning about the NHS, its structures and different professionals and their roles within the NHS.
You will have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths. It is not a requirement for you to have studied Health & Social Care before.
Assessment is through coursework completed in each year and examinations occurring at the end of year 1 and year 2. You will be assessed by your teachers to help you develop your skills and given feedback to better prepare you for exams.
