Who is the course for? The OCR Level 3 Advance GCE in Law is an engaging course, designed to inspire, nurture and develop learners. It fosters their interest and enjoyment in law, develop knowledge and skills for the further study of law, and related subjects, such as business. It is a qualification that enables learners to develop their knowledge of the law in England, and an awareness of law in a European and global context. The course will enable learners to know and understand the changing nature of law and the interaction between law, morals, justice and society; helping them to succeed in their chosen pathway into higher education and beyond. What can it lead to? Some learners may wish to gain the qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment or to progress to a higher education foundation degree, HND or other professional development programme such as apprenticeships in legal services. The course provides a route to employment into the many diverse areas of the legal sector. These could include: roles in specialist areas such as management, human resources, business law, consumer law, dispute solving in civil law, aspects of criminal law and legal advisory or more generic role in a small local legal firm.

The assessment approach of the course is 100% examination, all taken at the end of Y13 where students will sit 3 exam papers which are synoptic across the components.
