
A level geography is a course for students who have a keen interest in understanding how the our world works, physically and socially. The course is similar to GCSE in that it is split between physical and human geography, with a separate independent project which is similar to the fieldwork carried out at GCSE level, but much more in-depth and much more independently. The topics are selected to build on knowledge gained at GSCE, with newer topics to excite your curiosity and broaden your knowledge.
Students must achieve a grade 5 in GCSE Geography. Those who have not studies GCSE Geography may be considered, please speak to Head of Department.
40% = Paper 1—2 hrs— 120 marks 40% = Paper 2—2 hrs— 120 marks 20% = Independent Project— 3000—4000 words—60 marks
