
Chemistry is a methodical subject. It involves systematic learning of facts but also encourages you to analyse the facts, draw conclusions and make predictions. Chemistry is a practical subject and you will spend a significant amount of time conducting experiments in one of our modern purpose built and very well equipped laboratories. We are fortunate to have a superb team of teachers and technicians to support our students in this engaging subject. Chemistry is often described as the "Central Science". It is a prerequisite for many courses at university and for many areas of employment. It is also a long-established and respected qualification that allows progression into a number of subjects at university, including medicine, for which it is usually essential. Chemistry is also a highly valued A-level or degree subject for people going into Law, Accountancy, Journalism, Business and Management – to name but a few.
Grade 6 or above in all GCSE Sciences Students must have a grade 5 for Maths.
