This A Level course looks closely at the key elements of Economics from consumer demands to marketing to stock markets to financial markets to globalisation. This course is based on current events and therefore much use if made of newspapers, magazines and TV programs. In addition, there are any investigations so use is made of the internet and CDROMs. To support students with their studies visits will take place in a local, national and international setting. Wherever it is possible great effort is made to relate the course to the students own experience. In lessons, discussion and debate are important techniques.
GCSE in Business studies would be beneficial but not essential. Students must have a grade 5 for Maths and English.
