Course summary

It is about you as a person and your role in society. The aims of the course are to make the student much more aware of the effects of being part of Society from "the cradle to the grave." This will be a new subject to all students but this popular course offers a great insight into the workings of different societies and all the key elements that make up our complex and intriguing world. The course examines social behaviour from a variety of perspectives: how it originates and then develops, and the ways people are organised into groups according to distinctions such as class, gender and race.

Entry requirements

At least five Grade '4' or above passes, in any subjects at GCSE. The student must also have a Grade 5 in English Language.

How you'll be assessed

100% examination at the end of Year 13. Three exam papers based on the topics above, each paper is worth 33.3% and is two hours long
