History at A Level is designed to offer students the chance to study a wide variety of periods and topics in English, European and American History. These modules offer the opportunity to study historical topics over a long period of time, in breadth and in depth. Students will be gaining knowledge of the good and bad that humanity is capable of, an understanding of how the world we live in has developed, an ability to develop informed attitudes on current and previous events and issues, and the problems of others.
A Grade 5 or above, in GCSE History. However, the course welcomes those students who have not studied History in Key Stage 4, as the course builds on, but does not depend on, the knowledge, understanding and skills specified for GCSE History.
