The course asks our learners to ask and explore a variety of questions associated with crime and criminality: What different types of crime take place in our society? How do we decide what behaviour is criminal? How do we explain why people commit crime? What happens to those who commit a crime? Why and how do we punish people? The WJEC Level 3 Diploma in Criminology has been designed to allow you to explore crime, criminal theories and the processes within the Criminal Justice System.
5 GCSEs at Band 4 or above, including Maths and English Language
You will have 2 controlled assessments (internal assessments); one in year 12 and one in year 13. These are often referred to as the coursework element of the course and are worth 50% of the final mark. You will also have 2 formal exams; one in the summer of year 12 and one in the summer of year 13.
