Film Studies incorporates the history of cinema, the individual elements that go to making film (e.g. sound, editing), as well as focusing on key films from the last 100 years. These include Hollywood blockbusters, British independent film and European arthouse. It is tested through essays in two written papers in Year 13, and the choice of either making a short film or writing a screenplay.
