
As a student of environmental science, throughout the course you will tackle some of our biggest issues we have in this world today. You will grow your interest and enthusiasm for our environment and lay the foundations for further study and the workplace. Environmental Science is a highly relevant interdisciplinary fourth science option. It’s ideal study for anyone interested in contemporary environmental issues, systems thinking and sustainability. The course will be delivered as classroom teaching, laboratory experiments and fieldwork. In year 12, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of environmental issues in the living and physical environment. In year 13, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of pollution, sustainability and how environmental issues are relevant to biological resources (fisheries, agriculture, energy). During both years you will have opportunities to actively participate in environmental projects the academy is engaged in along with linking with other outside organisations.
2x Grade 6 in Combined Science, or grade 6 in Biology and Chemistry separate sciences including. Grade 6 to 9 in GCSE Mathematics.
