This course is an A Level Course. In this course you can expect to study a wide range of exciting topics, ranging from molecular biology to the study of ecosystems and from microorganisms to mammoths. Biology is never far from the headlines; the human genome has been sequenced, and we know the complete arrangement of the three thousand million bases that make up human DNA. In Kenya 350 people die every day from AIDS, and in South East Asia the skies are dark with smoke as the last Bornean rainforests are burned to grow oil palms. Biologists are concerned with all these issues. We promote the practical, theoretical and mathematical skills that will prepare you fully for further study. For further information please contact Mr N Wolfson (Subject Specialist: Biology), nwolfson@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk or; Miss Mangat (Head of Science) kmangat@holytrinitycrawley.org.uk
MINIMUM SUBJECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (in addition to the general 6TH form minimum entry requirements of 5 x grade 4 at GCSE/equivalent or above including maths and English): GCSE Combined Science 6, 6 or Biology 6, 2nd Science 6 plus Maths grade 5.
