
This course is an A Level Course. In this course you can expect to build on and extend your knowledge and understanding of Pure Maths and Statistics. The course introduces new topics such as matrices and complex numbers that are vital in many STEM degrees and students who have studied Further Mathematics find the transition to such degrees far more straightforward. Studying Further Mathematics will also consolidate and reinforce your standard A-level Mathematics work, helping you to achieve your best possible grades. MINIMUM SUBJECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (in addition to the general 6TH form minimum entry requirements of 5 x grade 4 at GCSE/equivalent or above, including maths and English): GCSE Grade 7 in Maths plus this course must be combined with Maths A Level.
Exam Board Information: Edexcel A Level Further Maths 50% Core Pure Maths 25% Further pure1* 25% Further Statistics1* *These are our current choice of optional elements; these are drawn from Mechanics, Statistics, Decision Mathematics & Pure Mathematics All assessment is by external examinations at the end of the course.
