
This course is an A Level Course. In this exciting course, you can expect to gain an in-depth knowledge of this fascinating subject. You will study a variety of topics within three of the main branches of Chemistry: Physical, Inorganic and Organic. Practical work is at the heart of Chemistry, so you can expect it to play an important role in supporting your understanding and developing a number of skills. MINIMUM SUBJECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (in addition to the general 6TH form minimum entry requirements of 5 x grade 4 at GCSE/equivalent or above including maths and English: GCSE Combined Science 6, 6 or Chemistry 6, 2nd Science 6 plus Maths grade 5 (ideally 6).
Exam Board Information: A Level AQA Chemistry • Paper 1: Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Practical Skills (35%): written exam, 2 hours, 105 marks of short and long answer questions. • Paper 2: Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Practical Skills (35%): written exam, 2 hours, 105 marks of short and long answer questions. • Paper 3: Any Content and Practical Skills (30%): written exam, 2 hours, 90 marks of short and long answer questions and multiple-choice. N.B. A separate endorsement of practical skills will be taken alongside the A Level.
