
This course is: Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate (CTEC) in Health and Social Care. In this course, you can expect to develop an understanding of the essential knowledge and skills needed when pursuing careers in health and social care. This course will suit students who are interested in learning about health and social care from both a practical and theoretical perspective. This course is equivalent to one A Level course with the same UCAS points as an A Level Course and can be part of a pathway to further/higher education. MINIMUM SUBJECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (in addition to the general 6TH form minimum entry requirements of 5 x grade 4 at GCSE/equivalent or above including maths and English): GCSE grade 4, 4 in science plus grade 4 in both GCSE English and Maths. Child development GCSE would be an advantage.
Exam Board Information: OCR The Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Certificate Health and Social Care is a course that combines exams with assignment-based work and is suited to independent learners that would benefit from this way of working. There are 4 mandatory units, 3 of which are externally assessed (exam). The remaining mandatory unit and the 2 optional units comprise of a series of assignments designed to provide students with the knowledge and techniques required for the applied science sector.
