Course summary

This course is an A Level Course. In this course you can expect to study one of the most significant ideologies of the twentieth century. Communism directly affected the lives of millions of people who lived under communist rule, but it also had indirect effects on countless others around the world. You will look at the creation of communist rule, the impact on the social, economic and political establishments and its ultimate decline in both countries. You will also explore the nature of rebellion and disorder under the Tudors and the way the various challenges were met, the nature of change in government over the period and the changing relationship between the Crown and key sections of society. The option enables you to explore the way in which, despite a shaky start, the Tudors were able to establish their dynasty as one of the most powerful England has seen.
