This subject is perfect for students who are passionate about continuing their successful creative practice from their GCSE Art & Design endorsement (Art, Photography, Textiles, Graphics) in a well-resourced and experienced department. This course will give you foundational degree level art practice skills and strong transferable skills such as decision making, critical thinking, visual presentation, independent thought, self analysis and communication.
Students are required to complete a portfolio of practical work, supported by research, critical and analytical annotations and to complete a written Personal Study. The programme of study includes a real-world design project in collaboration with a branding agency. In February, the exam board releases an Externally Set Assignment with a specific theme, which students are required to respond to through personal investigation, preparatory studies and a final 15-hour controlled assessment
