
A total of 13 units are completed for this qualifications. Of these 8, are mandatory units. Four are externally set written exams that are completed over two years and four are assignments. Plus, there are five smaller, optional assignment units. This qualification has been designed to be a two year full-time study programme. It is an in-depth study of the health and social care sector, and supports progression to: Higher education and apprenticeship or employment. This qualification has a mandatory requirement to complete a work placement of 100 hours. Progress onto university or further training and your career prospects will include nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and teaching to name a few. Many pupils choose progress to employment making a difference to the lives of older people through social care jobs.
