How you'll be assessed

The qualification uses a 100% terminal exam assessment model. The AQA AS-Level consist of 3 externally examined papers in May /June of Year 12. paper 1 is 1 hour 45 minutes, paper 2 is 1 hour 30 minutes and paper 3 is 15 minutes speaking. It is worth 40% of an A-Level, 20 UCAS points. The AQA A-Level Spanish consists of three externally examined papers in May /June of Year 13. The duration of the papers are 2 hours for paper 1and 2 hour 30 for paper 2. The oral exam is based on a research project and last about 25 minutes. The AS qualification will be graded on a five-point scale: A, B, C, D and E. Students who fail to reach the minimum standard for grade E will be recorded as U (unclassified) and will not receive a qualification certificate.
