Course summary

This qualification is suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the education and early years sector. This technical qualification will support students on to a range of progression routes including employment, higher education and higher apprenticeships. All students will develop an understanding of: - understanding the education and early years sector from ages 0 to 19 - Child development - How to support children and young people’s education - Safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing - Understanding and managing behaviour - Observing and assessing children and young people - Equality and diversity - Special educational needs and disability - English as an additional language - Working with parents, carers and wider families - Working with agencies and services that support children, families and carers - Reflective practice and other forms of professional development

How you'll be assessed

A T Level is split into three main sections: Technical qualification (TQ) is the main, classroom-based element. Students will learn about their chosen sectors through a curriculum designed by employers and developed by an awarding organisation (AO) -Industry placement runs for a minimum of 315 hours (45 days) overall and will give students practical insights into their sector and an opportunity to embed the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom -English, maths and digital provision are also built into the classroom-based element of the T Level, meaning students will be given a solid foundation of transferable skills
