
Students will study Music Performance, this includes: • Practical Music Theory and Harmony • Professional Practice in the Music Industry • Ensemble Music Performance We want students who: • Have an interest in, enthusiasm for music. • Are keen to develop their own musicianship through practical workshops • Are curious in working within the music industry, developing an understanding on different roles and responsibilities in their chosen field. • Want to be become independent in developing, refining, performing and critically evaluating their own ideas and intentions • Want to support the music industry in the future
Must be able to play a rock instrument
Students will undergo and complete three mandatory units: Unit 1: Practical Music Theory and Harmony Learners develop knowledge an understanding of music theory and harmony and apply their understanding in practical scenarios. This unit is internally assessed. Unit 2: Professional Practice in the Music Industry Learners explore what it is that makes someone a professional in the music industry and how to put forward a bid to work. This unit is externally assessed. Unit 3: Ensemble Music Performance Learners work as part of an ensemble and develop their skills and techniques in rehearsal and performance. This unit is externally assessed.
